Personally, I rode a city bus to the mall today. During rush hours, traffic can be very heavy in the area. Its parking lot can be accessed from Nicholasville Road or from Reynolds Road. The mall is located just outside of New Circle Road in Lexington. A sign in the parking lot indicates that they offer valet parking on certain days at certain times. However, I've heard that on extremely busy days (like the last Saturday before Christmas) sometimes it can be hard to find a parking spot. The mall includes several entrances and a huge parking lot. Personally, I browsed through the mall today in about an hour or two. A person who enjoys browsing and shopping could easily devote several hours to shopping here, maybe days. I recommend you try to take time to browse through sometime if you are in the Lexington area and haven't already, especially if you're looking for a gift for someone who is hard to shop for. Many persons who love shopping a huge variety of stores under one roof would probably give it an "excellent" rating. If the mall still had a bookstore and prices were a bit lower, I would rate it "excellent" instead of "very good" in my review. Now, I miss Sears, the bookstores, and some other businesses that are not in the mall now, but it remains a huge mall with lots to see and buy if you have the money and desire to buy it. I occasionally shopped here myself for books, clothing, etc. Years ago when I did a gift exchange with other members of my immediate family, Fayette Mall was often where I came to find gifts. Personally, I seldom visit the mall since I prefer the lower prices of discount retailers. I think this mall is the best place in Lexington to shop in a wide variety of stores in one area. Although the mall itself does not contain one now, a huge Joseph-Beth bookstore, a Lifeway Christian Store, and a Half-Price books location are located in other nearby shopping areas. Years ago Fayette Mall contained bookstores (a Waldenbooks and a Family Christian Store). But, near the mall are some other shopping centers with numerous other stores, restaurants, movie theaters, supermarkets, etc. Helpful directories that include a map indicating store names and locations are located in a few places in the mall During my Christmas Eve visit, a booth was offering photos with Santa, and a line of persons were waiting for those. And at several places within the mall there are padded chairs and couches for persons to sit while waiting for others to finish shopping or to rest. The vending machines dispense drinks, snacks, gumballs, and temporary tattoos. The mall also includes water fountains and vending machines. Public restrooms for the mall are located in at least three places, in addition to public restrooms provided by some of the stores. The mall contains at least 10 fast-food restaurants in its food court, along with a few others that have outdoor entrances that are located in other parts of the mall. Other than these four stores, I think the rest of the mall is all on one level. In addition to escalators, elevators and stairs are available. Escalators made access between the levels reasonable easy with one possible exception-I'm not sure if an escalator goes up to the third floor of Dillards, a part of the store I didn't visit. Penney, and the two-story Dick's Sporting Goods store. The biggest stores in the mall probably are the three-story Macy's, the three-story Dillards (with a hair and nail salon on the third floor), the two-story J.C. During the Christmas season there are seasonal stores focused on ornaments and other Christmas-related items. There are also stores focused on toys, stores focused on University of Kentucky licensed items, and stores focused on a wide variety of other things. Its stores include numerous clothing stores, several shoe stores, several jewelry stores, and several cell phone stores. After an expansion some years ago, it became the largest mall in the state of Kentucky, which it still is as far as I know. I enjoyed browsing through this huge mall today (Christmas Eve, December 24, 2017).
